The Pillsbury Story

Vermont family-owned and operated, Pillsbury Senior Communities have been serving the needs of seniors in Vermont for over 30 years. Founded in 1985 by the Larkin family and Bill and Mary Spalding, our first community offered assisted care services in a residential setting.

Our mission is to make a difference in the changing lives of our residents by providing a safe home-like community with a compassionate and caring staff.

Pillsbury Senior Communities serves over 250 seniors each day. We offer assisted care and independent living in five different communities in South Burlington: Allenwood, Harborview, Gazebo Apartments, Pillsbury Manor North and Pillsbury Manor South. Our sixth location, Homestead, is in St. Albans.

Many members of our highly trained and professional staff have been with our company for over 20 years. Their goal is to ensure that our residents are comfortable and happy and that their environment is home-like and safe.

We cherish the relationships we build with each of our residents and their families. We want our residents to call Pillsbury Senior Communities their home, and to feel that their lives have been enhanced because they have chosen to live here.

“Times of transition are times of turmoil and change. The people at Pillsbury were there for my mother and me during those critical times. We are deeply grateful to them and happy with the important decisions we had to make at those times of transition.”

– Hank Fischer, whose mother lives at Pillsbury Manor South and was at Allenwood
